Statement Mike Villalta For Mayor Of Los Banos Background
Qualifications: As a lifelong
resident and 22 year member of Los Banos Rotary Club, I believe that citizen involvement
is the key to sustaining a healthy community. For 31 years I was employed with
the Los Banos Unified School District as an elementary and secondary teacher,
Administrative Assistant/Counselor and Principal at the Junior High, and most
recently District Director of Human Resources. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree
and teaching credential from College of Notre Dame, and a Master's degree in Educational
Administration from the University of San Francisco. Presently I serve as city
council member.
As your
new mayor, I will: Advocate for
continued strong sustainable police and fire department funding Continue
to vote for conservative management of the city budget for long-term economic
recovery Make a commitment to restore and maintain
the vitality of our downtown and address issues of safety in our neighborhoods
Promote a positive pro-business environment within
our city Promote a good working relationship between the city and
school district to maximize the joint use of facilities for residents of all ages
The
