About Mike Villalta

Born and raised in Los Banos, Mike Villalta attended and graduated both public and private schools locally, attending Merced College, then receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree and teaching credential through the College of Notre Dame in Belmont, California (now known as NDNU). He holds a Master's degree in Educational Administration from the University of San Francisco.

A retired 31 year employee of the Los Banos Unified School District, Mike was a fully-credentialed elementary and secondary teacher, Administrative Assistant/Counselor and Principal at Los Banos Junior High, most recently serving as the District Director of Human Resources for 7 years.

Community service is important to Mike. He is a proud 22 year member of the Los Banos Rotary Club, serving as its president for two terms. Funding student scholarship for ongoing education is a noteworthy club activity of local interest.

Living through the challenges of a successful and ongoing retail operation in the heart of Los Banos, the Villalta family has experienced what it is like to be in business for over the last 26 years. Mike has first-hand knowledge of the building process working with the City of Los Banos as a commercial property owner.

Mike is currently seated on the Los Banos Cemetery Board, appointed in 2006 by Merced County Supervisor Jerry O'Banion, serving as its Chairman of the Board during 2007-8.

Michael Villalta is an elected member to the Los Banos City Council since 2006, currently serving a four year term.
